As soon as Lumina had opened the bag her heart started beating like crazy. She wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do but it must have been better than nothing. Surely it was good for the two of them to know, right? No one else was around, not even their parents, so this was a total secret. Lulu did love sibling secrets. Milo had taken the egg out of the bag to examine some more himself, while Lulu sat and looked at the french toast. She was a bit jaded to it now, for it had been around for some time now, at least it seemed that way.

"An ostrich? Ostrich eggs are definitely not this big Milo. It moves too, like it's shaking. I found it at the end of my bed at five in the morning though, and I've been awake ever since," Lumina explained, ending with a pouty face. Remembering the previous night just made her a little more frusterated about the whole situation. She remembered it could all be a scheme, or a prank. At this point though even her brother seemed mystified about it, so the chances of it being anything she had imagined were all equally likely...meaning the percentage of each is very small, so whatever it is will probably become so very obvious at the point of our finding out exactly what's going on. Lulu just kind-of smiled, still confused, but trying to seem like she might have an idea of what's going on. Her brother was older and smarter, so maybe he'd figure it all out before her. Well then, perhaps now it'd be a race. He would be in class and she actually thought she remembered him saying he had a test today. She wasn't completely sure but now she hoped. That would give her more time to figure it out herself. They both wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it of course.

"Well, it's got to be some type of egg." He continued to look at the egg closely, as if attempting to intimidate the details from it. It moved a few times while in Milo's hands, causing him to let go in fright... An awkward moment passed and then he laughed at himself, and tilted the rolling egg back up right. "It just appeared at your bed huh?"

"Maybe it was some sort of dinosaur egg," He began to ponder out loud, "and it came into contact with a meteor of anti-matter. Instead of completely negating each other's existence, the antimatter change the molecules time reversal symmetry. Sending the atoms spiraling through time."

Milo paused, looking at the egg closer. "Though, I don't suppose that's very likely, is it?" It looked plain, but something about it was off. It was big, way too big to be of any ordinary bird. However, there was something else. It just had an odd shape, no the smooth and long oval eggs we're mostly used to in birds.

"Maybe it's a reptile egg," He continued,giving control of the egg back to his sister. He'd momentarily forgot about breakfast. "Maybe it's from a parallel dimension where dragons exist. Maybe it's a dragon egg."

He began to fry another piece of toast, and restated the most important question. "But where did it come from?"

Lumina watched the egg and her brother handling it, gasping just the tiniest bit as Milo let it go. She jumped up in her seat, then settled back down as he secured the egg in his grasp once more. Okay, so maybe she was feeling a bit motherly about the egg now but that was only because of the amount of time she had spent with it. She blushed a bit, hoping her brother wouldn't notice.

"Dinosaur egg, that's what I thought!" Lumina exclaimed, "but you might want to talk to dad about the rest," she said while rolling her eyes and giggling. "Which, by the way, I don't think is a good idea." Lulu left it at that, not giving any explanation as to why. She hoped her brother would just agree with no questions asked. She didn't even have a good explanation. Perhaps it was just because she wanted to keep it...well, at least until it hatched. After that point she might find herself cuddling whatever is was, or running away in terror, or she might even turn up dead. The thought didn't really scare her too much, right now anyway.

Lulu took the egg from her brother as he went to make more french toast. A dragon egg would be exciting...maybe," Lulu said, pondering different scenarios of a baby dragon in her head. Her face crumpled a bit as she thought of one quite so terrible scenario and she shook her head. "Maybe not."

Lulu sort-of just ignored her brother's question as he finished up and the delicious, delectable food was done and ready to be savored and enjoyed. Letting go of the egg, Lulu put some syrup on her plate and almost dug in, forgetting something. "There you go," she said with a smile as she set the egg on the floor, so it wouldn't fall and break. She looked to her brother who was kind-of laughing at her. "What? Whatever is in there, it's still a baby, right?" she stuck her tongue out at him, digging in to her peice of french toast.

"Sure," Milo chuckled, "I'll keep your giant egg a secret when I go to class, but I don't think you're going to be able to hide it from him for very long."

Milo smiled down at his food. Breakfast always distracted, calmed, and centered him. It even distracted him from the giant egg that seemingly crept into his sisters room unexpclicably last night. Perhaps Milo would have been more intrigued, except he brushed it off a bit. The idea of an egg being sent from another dimension, or through time, was interesting, but there was most likely a rational explanation. Milo stashed thoughts of the egg away with that sentiment, and began to mentally review material for the test.

"There you go," Lu said, placing her large egg on the floor with care. Milo chuckled, "What? Whatever is in there, it's still a baby, right?"

"One can only hope." Milo said, the continued with his breakfast. One cannot describe the sense of satisfaction when french toast and syrup combine on your taste buds. "Mom's still gone, won't be back until later today I think. So you have to go with me to class, but it's test day, so I shouldn't be there long." Milo smiled a bit, he always felt sorry for the people who took the entire allotted time to finish a test. Sure, they had three hours, but Milo would be out in half an hour.

"You're not taking that with you, are you?" Milo asked, referring to the egg. He phrased his question with doubt, yet somehow he could see his sister carrying a backpack with the egg all snuggled up inside. At that thought, he chuckled a bit more.

"Sure, I'll keep your giant egg a secret when I go to class, but I don't think you're going to be able to hide it from him for very long." This made Lumina raise a brow. She smiled. "Oh you don't, do you?" Challenge accepted!" Lumina exclaimed, really hoping her father wouldn't find out about the egg. Her mind already started to unhatch a plan, her expression turning into an almost devious one.

Lulu paused in eating her french toast, just thinking about each step she would have to take in ensuring the safety of that egg. "...but it's test day, so I shouldn't be there long." Lulu shook her head to get out of her thoughts and looked at Milo. "Uh? Oh, yeah yeah, I figured," Lulu responded a little quietly. She was usually a bit bored when she had to go to class with her brother, especially on test days, but it wasn't that oten. And today she had some form of entertainment.

"You're not taking that with you, are you?" Lumina heard her brother ask. All she did was smile as she took the last bite of her french toast. Taking a step down Lumina lowered herself from the chair and put her dish in the sink, then skipped over the egg and into her room, all while humming a little tune. She paced around her room for a few seconds, before getting a small blanket and her cell phone, of course.

Upon entering the kitchen again, she scampered over to the egg and grabbed her black backpack. Still humming, she put the blanket in the bottom of the bag and slipped the egg inside. She gave a great big smile at noticing how cute it looked.

"Of course I am," Lulu said while standing up and looking at Milo. She stuck her phone in her pocket and put her hands on her hips, tapping her foot. "Well, when do we leave?"

"Well, when do we leave?" Lu asked, just as Milo finished savoring his last bite.

"Right now." Milo said, then he hurried to put his dish in the sink as he drank his last bit of milk. He disappeared into his room, and began to change clothes. He picked up the scattered papers from the floor, and tossed them into his bag that had fallen from his desk. He took the bag, and threw it around his neck. "Hmm where is it?" Milo said to himself, looking for his good luck charm, but he didn't seem to see it in his room.

He finally silenced the music that had been playing over his computer speakers, and sat down at his desk. A small black thumb drive, with a flashing orange light, was plugged into his tower. He retrieved it, containing the results of his experiment,and he'd show his dad... He didn't do the homework, but maybe this was just as good? Milo convinced himself that his dad wouldn't mind, after all, he was the best student. An ill feeling still lurked in the back of his mind, some part of him knew his dad would be disappointed.

Milo picked up a few pens from his desk and tossed them into his bag. He also grabbed a small bag of chips, a few coins for the vending machines, and his laptop. These were his 'essentials' that he needed. He began to look into the bag, just to double check his inventory, but he was distracted by his desktop monitor going black. He double checked the power supply, it was jake. Pressing the power button brought life back to his computer, and so Milo shrugged it off.

"I'm ready whenever you are," He called to his sister as he left his room. "There it is!" He continued, spotting his lucky charm on their living room couch. He took the teal cloak and wrapped it around his shoulders. "I have a feeling this is going to be an unfortunately boring day. The highlight of it is we found a giant egg..."

"Right now," Lumina heard Milo say in response to her question. She watched him hurry off into his room, to gather his things for school she guessed. It was quite a logical assumption, considering where they were going.

Lulu hummed to the egg as she sat down and sort-of cradled it. She had grown quite fond of it, even if there was still a little piece of her that didn't quite trust it. More thoughts of what it could be crossed her mind - perhaps it was a bomb. Lulu's eyes opened wide as she distanced herself from it a bit, then pat it hesitantly. A low grumbling sound she could hear from across the room only meant one thing, and it was getting closer.

"Darwin! Knock it off," Lumina yelled to the family pug. As it came closer it could obviously see it was actually smaller than the egg, which Lulu was now guarding. The pug gave a little whine as it went back into another room, probably to sleep. "Scaredy-cat lazy bum," she added as she watched the little animal trot off. She did love it quite so though. It had been a part of their family ever since Lulu could remember.

Lulu turned her head at the sound of her brother's voice. "Alrighty, let's go," she said eagerly, picking up the bag and slinging it over her head and on her shoulder.

"I have a feeling this is going to be an unfortunately boring day. The highlight of it is we found a giant egg..." Lulu shrugged, giving a little "Hmm..." She smiled as she watched her brother open the door and step out, waiting for her to do the same. As she stepped out and shut the door, she saw Darwin come back in and give her the signature head-tilt that his type did. "Bye Darwin," Lulu said in a sing-songy voice, then turned to her brother, "I have to disagree. I think today is going to be wonderful." With that, she gave him a little poke.
